First test run successfully completed
On Friday, March 27, 2026, the INCLUDE team met at the Department for Sport, Exercise and Health to conduct all planned tests together with a participant for the first time. The goal of this pilot day was to test our procedures and equipment under realistic conditions and further optimize our assessments if needed.
The morning was devoted entirely to the baseline visit. Together, we went through the questionnaires and wrote down any ambiguities as well as potential adjustments. At the same time, we reviewed the individual measurement procedures, tested each step in detail, and ensured that all collected data could be recorded correctly in REDCap.
Our participant actively supported us in this process: She provided valuable feedback, participated enthusiastically, and helped us gain important practical insights. For example, we noticed that the assessment of non-pharmacological treatments is more complex than we initially thought. After lunch together, we conducted the planned circuit outdoors. Here, too, we were able to test the organization, instructions, and data collection in real-world conditions, outside the laboratory.
An intensive and productive day came to an end, providing us with many valuable insights and clearly highlighting where there is still room for improvement. At the same time, the trial run confirmed that we are on the right track and have established a solid foundation for the first official trials.
